LUDVIG FROM DENMARK INVENTED THE HAMBURGER

Today, you can hardly imagine a MC meeting without a bunch of burgers being flipped, and burgers are eaten in all walks of life all over the world. Ludvig Lassen from Denmark, who later settled in the United States and changed his first name to Louis, is considered to be the first to serve a hamburger when a busy customer came in and wanted a quick bite that he could take in his hand. Louis slapped a mixture of different meats into the frying pan and placed the flattened ‘burger between two slices of bread. This was in the year 1900. Louis’ Lunch Restaurant is the oldest hamburger restaurant in the USA, located in New Haven Connecticut and is today run by Louis’ grandson Jeff.
